Pick up a free “Shine a Light” awareness kit and take part in this year’s campaign. Kits include:

• An electric candle to display in your window as a symbol of hope and solidarity

• Mental health and crisis resources

• Supplies to participate in Chalk the Walk

Chalk the Walk Kickoff Event

Celebrate the start of Chalk the Walk with a day of community connection. Stop by for:

• Chalk and supplies to decorate sidewalks with messages of hope

• Tables from local organizations including NAMI Syracuse and East Syracuse Minoa’s Sources of Strength

• Free giveaways and resources

Join us this September (23–27)  for Chalk the Walk during Suicide Prevention Month! Together, we’ll turn sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots across Onondaga County into colorful messages of hope and healing.

This year’s theme is “Hope in Every Step.” Every message or drawing can brighten someone’s day, spark connection, and remind our community that no one is alone. Pick up your chalk, create your message or artwork, and share it—then post your photos on social media, tag Contact Community Services and  Onondaga County Suicide Prevention Coalition (OCSPC), and use #hopeineverystep to spread hope even further.
