Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

A two-day interactive workshop that teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.

Anyone. This class is recommended for hotline counselors, emergency service workers, mental health and health care providers, but participants do not need any formal training to attend the workshop. This class is open to anyone in the community 16 years or older!

CEUs are available, visit LivingWorks page to learn more about the process and associated costs:

Participants learn how to identify people who have thoughts of suicide and recognize their invitations for help; understand how beliefs and attitudes can affect suicide interventions; conduct a safety assessment and develop a safety plan for a person at risk; confirm a person’s intent to follow through on the safety plan; and connect an at-risk person with community resources.
